We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Software Intern to join our dynamic Digital Services team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with software development and the latest developments in technology, while working alongside industry experts on exciting projects. 

Your role

As a software engineer, you will work on a broad variety of projects. For some projects, the software will be the entire project; for others, it will be one component of a broader ecosystem involving software and hardware developed at Cambridge Consultants or by our clients. We are looking for versatile people who can adapt to challenges as they come in. 

You’ll share your days with talented teams of software engineers, UX and service designers, mathematicians, test engineers and DevOps specialists. Your focus will be effective, creative delivery for ambitious, world-renowned clients wanting to make a real difference to real lives. Often you’ll be developing systems that haven’t been seen before and where the specification can at first be unclear. Working with our team you’ll be able to cut through the fog and deliver solutions for our clients. 

What you’ll be doing 

• Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of cloud-based applications. 

• Collaborate with team members to design and implement software solutions. 

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality. 

• Stay updated with the latest technology trends and integrate new tools and techniques into projects. 

• Support troubleshooting and debugging efforts to ensure optimal performance of applications. 

What you can bring to the team 

A successful Software Intern in our team will:

• Be studying for a relevant STEM degree, such as computer science or software engineering, with good academic results. 
• Have basic understanding of software development principles and cloud technologies.
• Have a strong interest in the latest technology trends and eagerness to learn.
• Have good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and clients to understand their challenges and present thoughtful solutions.
