Introduction

Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant who enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment? This is a 12-month maternity cover contract.

The role

Our global finance team, consisting of 23 colleagues, is responsible for managing the entire accounting function across the company. As a Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will play a key role in processing invoices and resolving queries from both suppliers and colleagues.

This position demands a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy, along with the flexibility to adapt to varying tasks.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will take on a variety of key tasks, including:

• Matching and coding invoices to purchase orders
• Checking and reconciliation of supplier statements
• Inputting invoices onto the accounting system
• Maintaining outstanding commitments on purchase orders
• Ensure all supplier account details are up to date and maintained
• Assist with the processing of BACS payments
• Liaising with internal and external clients.
• Provide cover for Accounts Payable Supervisor
• Assist in other areas of the department as and when necessary

Requirements

We’re looking for applicants with the following experience or qualifications:

• Previous purchase ledger experience, ideally within a high-volume environment
• Experienced in both Word and Excel
• Ability to work to monthly deadlines
• Methodical approach to work
• Good team working skills
